Frequently asked questions
Lightspark Service Fees consist of a platform access fee (excluding the Starter Plan) and may also include transaction-based fees.
Both our Starter plan and our Enterpise plan include 30 free days starting from the date of sign-up.
Lightspark’s Service Fees are detailed on the pricing page. The Starter Plan does not have any monthly platform access fee but includes a variable fee for each transaction. Enterprise plans have an included transaction volume with their platform access fee, and only incur additional transaction-based fees when the customer exceeds the included volume. Lightspark may revise the Service Fees at any time, but we will provide at least 30 days notice to customers before any revised fees apply.
Platform Fees, excluding the Starter Plan, are invoiced monthly in advance, and transaction-based fees are invoiced in arrears based on the prior month's usage. Invoices are emailed to the billing contact on file as well as available in your account dashboard and generally provided in the first week of every month.
The due date for the Service Fees is set forth in the applicable invoice, but we generally require invoices to be paid within 5 days.
Service Fees are auto-charged to the default credit card via Stripe 5 days after invoice issuance. If any Service Fees are past due, Lightspark may assess interest on the past-due amount. Lightspark may charge the card on file for the total amount due and suspend your access to the services until the amounts are paid in full.
You are solely responsible for determining what taxes apply to their transactions and to withhold, collect, report, and remit the correct amounts of taxes to the appropriate tax authorities. Lightspark is not responsible for determining, withholding, collecting, reporting, or remitting taxes.

We offer different enterprise tiers based on included transaction volume and variable transaction fees.
- Starter plan: You will be notified before you reach your monthly transaction limit, and then automatically upgraded to the first enterprise plan after you exceed your monthly transaction limit.
- Enterprise plan: You will pay a per-transaction fee for each transaction that exceeds your monthly included transaction limit. Please note that the transaction-based fees are a variable cost, while the monthly platform access fee is a fixed cost.
Lightspark accepts the following payment methods:
- Credit Cards
- BTC Layer 1 payment (BTC L1)
- BTC Layer 2 Lightning Payment (BTC Lightning)
Yes, you can pay for Lightspark services with bitcoin. We accept payments over both the Bitcoin Layer 1 network and the Lightning Network. To pay using BTC L1 or BTC Lightning, the user must generate the BTC payment amount by clicking the link on the invoice. Lightspark calculates the BTC payment amount by converting the USD invoice amount to BTC based on a BTC/USD exchange rate provided by a third-party pricing oracle.
We provide UMA at no extra cost to Lightspark’s customers. While UMA is open source, and anyone can implement the standard, we’ve made it extremely easy to use as part of our offering. Lightspark’s UMA solution includes access to our high-performance Lightning implementation.

** You will be charged Enterprise plan fees starting the day on which you are moved to that plan. Once you are moved to the Enterprise plan for exceeding the transaction volume threshold, you cannot sign up again for the Starter plan.
