Introducing Grid Global Accounts
Platforms that move money for their users have operated under a strange arrangement during the digital era. You build the product. You acquire the users. You create the transactions. Then you hand the money movement to a chain of intermediaries who charge you fees to use their infrastructure: interchange fees, FX margin and float revenue to banks and PSPs, data to everyone but you.
The alternative option is to become a bank. Get licensed across jurisdictions. Staff a compliance team. Spend years and tens of millions on work unrelated to your core product. A few tried. Some continue to try. Most gave up. Some shut down. The economics of the existing arrangement were bad, but the cost of replacing it was worse.
Today, we are announcing a new path forward: Grid Global Accounts
A number of breakthroughs over the last twelve months have allowed us to build Grid Global Accounts.
The first is embedded wallets, which eliminated the crypto UX problem. Users can now sign up with Google, Apple, or passkeys. The account is non-custodial, so users control their funds through private keys, but it feels like a normal dollar account. Modern wallet infrastructure has proven this works at scale.
Then regulatory clarity arrived. The GENIUS Act passed in July 2025, creating the first U.S. federal framework for stablecoins. MiCA went live in the EU. Enterprises can now build on stablecoins with legal certainty for the first time.
With regulatory clarity and embedded wallets, payment infrastructure now operates at real scale. It has become easier to build and deploy wallets that increase transaction volume. Finally, the implementation of stablecoin-backed debit cards represents a powerful distribution channel, enabling real-world spending utility that drives transaction volume across payment rails while accelerating mainstream adoption of digital dollar infrastructure.
Lastly, across the ecosystem, Spark is already empowering companies like Tether, Cake Wallet, Xverse, and Wallet of Satoshi to run significant transaction volume at low cost. What was previously complex and expensive is now fast, reliable and production-ready.
These four shifts converging is what has made Grid Global Accounts possible. Even one short year ago, this product couldn’t have existed.
Grid Global Accounts are a full-stack financial account infrastructure that enables platforms to turn their app into a global financial account without becoming a bank. Platforms will now be able to offer their users branded dollar accounts, Visa cards, instant global payouts, and native Bitcoin with one API integration. Live in weeks, users get:
- Branded Dollar Accounts: Platforms issue their own stablecoin, retaining reserve yield, transaction fees, and FX margin. More currencies to come.
- Visa Card Issuance: Every account gets a Visa debit card (virtual and physical), accepted at 175M+ merchants globally. Platforms earn interchange revenue on every swipe.
- Instant Local Off-Ramps: USD balances convert to local currency at users' banks in seconds via PIX, SEPA Instant, UPI, FedNow, Faster Payments, and more. Coverage: 65+ countries, 14,000+ banks.
- Native Bitcoin: Users convert instantly between USD and BTC within their account, with no external exchange. Every conversion generates revenue for the platform.
- Cross-Chain Interoperability: Users move USD or BTC to Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Solana, and other ecosystems instantly. No lock-in.
- AI Agent Bounded Delegation: Account holders create scoped, revocable, auditable operating pockets for AI agents. The wallet enforces policy natively—spending limits, approved payees, approval thresholds, instant revocation. The first account where AI agents can transact safely.
Lightspark handles the infrastructure: licensing, KYB/KYC compliance, Visa card issuance, global payout rails, regulatory reporting, fraud monitoring. You focus on your product.
Grid Global Accounts already represent a step-change in how money is held and moved. The agent layer is what makes it future-proof in a class of its own.
Every interface is moving toward agent-readiness. The question is whether those agents can actually operate autonomously, while letting owners safely retain control.
With Grid Global Accounts, they can. The user can now give an AI agent its own operating pocket that is funded, constrained, and auditable without ever giving it access to your main account. They can pay a supplier, run payroll, or move money globally on your behalf, within safe boundaries that you control.
Consider a creator using AI to help run their business. Their agent already writes scripts, edits videos, and manages calendars. Now it can also pay bills and subscription fees using its own card, and manage operating expenses within a defined budget. The wallet enforces policy natively, with platforms creating their own scoped, revocable and auditable permissions.
Grid Global Accounts give the agent a native permission to operate in its own environment. Users still have control. That’s the new category.
Grid Global Accounts is live and ready for integration.
